Max Pogonowski (Swing Zing Instructor)

Max has had an interest in jazz - particularly big band swing - from an early age playing saxophone in a high school band.  And considering he was the only boy in PE class to openly enjoy the mandatory few weeks of bush dancing each year it is no surprise that he took up dancing at the first opportunity.  Returning from a five year stay in Singapore he started with Street Latin classes.  Two years later (2002) he followed a friend to a Swing lesson and never looked back!

After performing in Melbourne and teaching in Sydney Max brings a wealth of experience with him on joining our team in 2009.  With a keen interest in Blues and Balboa, and a passion for high flying aerials he is comfortable dancing at any pace.  Max has a small collection of medals from competitions all over Australia in slow, medium and fast Lindy and Balboa, and won the Hullabaloo Jack & Jill with Sophie in 2008.

If there's only one thing Max wants his students to take home, it's a passion for dancing and having fun.  The rest, he says, will then take care of itself.
