Leah Vandermeulen (Swing Zing Instructor)

Leah has been dancing Lindy Hop since 2006. In this time she has participated in workshops with internationally recognised swing dancers such as Mattias Lundmark & Hanna Zetterman from the Harlem Hot Shots, Vincenzo Fesi & Isabella Gregorio from Italy, and Joel Plys & Heidi Salerno from California. Leah also plays bass guitar for the internationally award winning Kalamunda Youth Swing Band and over the last 8 years she has supported international and interstate acts like John Farnham, Roberta Flack, KD Lang, Simply Red and STING just to name a few.

She also has her own band, The Darling Buds of May - a five piece jazz ensemble who play regularly around town and interstate. Leah is currently studying Civil and Construction Engineering at Curtin University. Swing dancing is a big part of Leah's social timetable so you'll be sure to see her on the dance floor the next time you're out and about!
